A Matter of Accountability

Lesson Description:
Students will:
  • Prepare and participate in a mock trial to try to assign responsibility for the consequences of climate change resulting from the build up of CO2 emissions in the earth’s atmosphere

One class day for trial; more time for preparation
Standards Addressed:
Geography Standards

  • Grades 9-12 geochemical cycles
  • Grades 5-8 personal health; populations, resources, and environments; natural
  • hazards; risks and benefits; and science and technology in society
  • Grades 5-8 population growth; natural resources; environmental quality; natural and human-induced hazards; and science and technology in local,national, and global challenges
