Seed Pot Critters
Lesson Description:
Elementary students will gather natural materials found outside on the ground in the fall. They will use the materials that they have collected to create critters, creatures, or animals.
Eco-fact: In the fall in environments where oak trees grow, acorns are an important diet of many animals such as birds, small mammals, and large mammals.

Procedure:
- Students will gather natural materials found outside on the ground in the fall.
- Arrange your materials to build critters, creatures, or animals.get creative.
- Glue all the parts of critters, creatures, or animals together.
- Let critter creations dry.
Adaptations:
- Teacher can require students to make specific animals such as squirrels in early fall or turkeys for thanksgiving.
Extensions:
- Students can write stories about their critters.
- Students can create a “critter museum” displaying their creations.
