Procedure:

Eco-Fact: Children and teenagers should be physically active for 60 minutes every day, or most every day.
Procedure:
- Pour heavy cream into jars and cover tightly with lids. Shake and shake!
- After some serious shaking (15-20 minutes or so – kids often share the task), the cream will solidify into butter. Now you can spoon out from the jar onto bread, or proceed with steps below to make specialty butters.
- First, spoon butter from jar into a bowl. Mix in salt to taste, and add herbs from the garden (i.e. parsley, thyme, basil, lavender, sage, rosemary, etc. – or a combination!).
- Spread onto bread or freshly steamed vegetables and enjoy!
Adaptations: - Students can take turns doing the cream shaking.
