In this lesson, students explore the vastness of one of this country’s most popular national parks, the Grand Canyon. Students examine the current transportation-related policies have been put in place to preserve this magnificent landscape, paying particular attention to the availability of more sustainable alternatives.

Students examine the current transportation-related policies have been put in place to preserve this magnificent landscape, paying particular attention to the availability of more sustainable alternatives.
Objectives:
- Students will discuss why transportation is an environmental concern in Grand Canyon National Park.
- Students will identify and research transportation options designed to protect the park.
- Students will design a poster that informs and encourages visitors to use more sustainable forms of transportation to get to and around the park.
